She sells seashells
One of the perks of living in Florida, of course, are the beaches. Several, just 1-2 hours from my home, are rated in the top beaches in the U.S. The sand is white and the shells are plentiful. My favorite beach on Sanibel Island. You can pick up shells for hours. In fact, tourists are fondly caught doing the "Sanibel Stoop" while gathering buckets and buckets of gorgeous shells.
Here are a few tips to creating this card. 1) With a simple color change from the pink I've used, to a neutral color, this card can easily be for a man or for any occasion. 2) This is a great card to use your designer paper scraps on. Don't throw away those small pieces. They come in very handy! 3) The piercing was created using the new piercing pack. This pack is so economical considering you get three unique templates, each 6"x6". The designs on the templates coordinate with Stampin' Up!'s punches and framelits. 4) The Island Indigo is a dark denim-type of blue but it coordinates with the designer paper I used here. To soften the tone I "stamped off". To do this, ink your image, stamp it twice. Use the lighter of the two images, cut it out and I mounted it on Dimensionals. If you are "stamping off" on a piece of cardstock that will be attached to your card (not cut out), stamp the first layer of ink off on your scratch paper. I use the Stampin' Up! grid sheets. They come 100 to a package and have a ruler printer right on them along with card dimensions. The grid sheets can be flipped over to their plain side and 100 sheets easily turn into 200! 5) I used the square punch to create the banner tip.
