This double-page spread was created for my monthly "Open Crop and Stamping Night'. We meet at a local church fellowship hall where we work independently on our scrapbooks or stamping projects (think cards, 3D items, etc.) I always provide a double-page layout as a make & take (optional). We meet on the 4th Friday of every from 6:30 pm-10pm. The cost is $5 and goes towards the church's missions team so it's 100% tax deductible. The lighting is fantastic and there is unlimited table space and parking is FREE AND CLOSE to the door! We are taking December off due to Christmas but we resume on January 25, 2013. I hope you'll join us.
Here are a few tips to making this layout. 1) I cut the designer paper into 2"x2" squares to make the presents. 2) See the large circle on the right side? Begin by trimming down your Cherry Cobbler cardstock to 11"x11" then cut your circle in the middle. Use the circle on the left side and the "negative image" on the right side. I put a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock behind the "negative hole" so it appears as if I cut another circle but I didn't. GREAT use of your leftovers, huh? 3) The zigzag was created using one of my very favorite Big Shot dies; Tasteful Trim. This die is worth every dime - 4 different borders that you can die cut to any size up to 12". You can find the die by CLICKING HERE. 4) It's tough to see in the photograph but I did stamp small stars, randomly, on the Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
