Spooky Greetings

I'm not a big fan of Halloween but more for the fall season. With that said, I still like to create a few hand-stamped cards for my great nephews.  This simple card features a new product; Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Pad (Holiday Catalog pg. 23 #126857).  Here are a few tips to making this card. 1) The new Illuminate pad was used to stamp the words and the chevron image under the ribbon. I LOVE this new pad!  BIG TIP: Be sure to buy the refill when you purchase the pad. This new ink pad is featured in the Holiday Catalog and we don't know whether it will be carried over into the new 2013 Catalog in June.  This ink pad is so awesome that you won't want to be without a refill to continue to use it over time.  2) I cut two separate pieces of black cardstock for the front of this card.  The small separation between the two plays up the chevron stamp and ribbon. Try cutting your cardstock in sections for a new layout. 3) Cut two pieces of ribbon versus going all the way around your card. This saves LOTS of ribbon.  Here I cut a 4 1/2" piece and another at 4".  The longer piece was used on the bottom by adhering the ends to the back of the cardstock.  The shorter piece I slipped under the bottom piece and tied it.
