Victorian Pleats

After numerous attempts to photograph this picture the colors, no matter what I tried, came out as beautiful as the original card. So, work with me and envision a gorgeous Pistachio Pudding color coupled with Island Indigo. BEEEAUUUUUTIFULLL!  The color combination is from the Venetian Romance designer paper. This was one of the projects from my Stamp & Celebrate event in July.

Here's how to pleat the doily:
  1. Fold the round Tea Lace Paper Doily in half.
  2. Fold it in half again. This should now look like a slice of pie or fan shape.
  3. Open up the doily and you'll find the creases from the previous two folds.
  4. Cut on one of those creases, just past the center.
  5. Begin to pleat your doily. Be patient. Until you get the pleats on how you want them to lay, it's perfectly fine to flatten it out and start over. Just be gentle not to tear the doily.
  6. I used SNAIL Adhesive to adhere it to the card.
  7. Add a border of designer paper or ribbon along the raw edges of the doily to hide any imperfections.
